Hey guys, Eric here.
I’m curious to see what people’s opinions are about the price of hops and how that affects how you operate. How much hops costs can make a big difference in what it costs to make your own beer. If you’ve been watching the market in the last year or so, you might have noticed that the value of hops has dropped dramatically. For example, the hop variety Cascade was trading at around $6.50 per pound from 2015 to 2016, but now the market for it has fallen to under $1.50. Do you foresee these drops affecting the price of beer as a whole? I doubt this. But personally, I think the impact on the beer brewing industry as a whole will be a positive one as lower prices even for raw supplies will spur cheaper production and thus growth. What do you think?
